Boat Based Whale Watching in Hermanus is only 1.5 hours drive from Cape Town City Centre. But if you have booked a Whale Watching trip with us we would advise you to leave 2 hours before your Whale Watching Trip departs just to give you 30 minutes extra travelling time just in case there might be delays with traffic etc. Hermanus has become one of the many small Towns to visits when coming to South Africa that sits along the Garden Route on the East Coast of the Western Cape, South Africa. This Town offers spectacular Views, Restaurants, Wine Farms and many Activities that can be done in and around Hermanus. There are also beautiful beaches to enjoy. Lots of accomodation to choose from along the beautiful ocean village. Mountain Biking and Hiking is very popular in the Hermanus Mountains. There is a famous cliff path along the ocean that spreads out for 12 km's. This is a beautiful walk and you can Spot Southern Right Whales along the Cliff Path.
Whale Watching Gansbaai is about a 2.5 hour Drive from Cape Town City Centre. We would advise that you give yourself 3 hours Traveling time just in case there are any traffic delays so you arrive 30 minutes prior to your Whale Watching Trip departs. Gansbaai is a lovely small quirky fishing village. Gansbaai experiences a lot of Southern Right Whale activity compared to most areas. This makes it a very attractive area to go Whale Watching. Also the Boat trip from Gansbaai Harbor to find the Southern Right Whales is generally shorter and therefor quicket to find.
Plettenberg Bay Whale Watching is ideal if you are travelling up the Garden Route and you didnt have the opportunity to go Whale Watching in Hermanus or Gansbaai. Plettenberg Bay is about 530 km drive from Cape Town City Centre. The Garden Route as its known is situated on the East Coast of the Western Cape, South Africa and stretches all the way to Port Elizabeth. There are MANY beautiful towns to visit along the Garden Route before reaching Plettenberg Bay. You can EASILY make a 2 week holiday EXPLORING the beautiful Garden Route.
